Your life is NOW – so what are you waiting for?

“For a long time, it had seemed to me that life was about to begin – real life. But there was always some obstacle in the way, something to be gotten through first, some unfinished business, time still to be served, a debt to be paid. Then life would begin. At last it dawned on me that these obstacles were my life.”

Alfred d’souza, writer & philosopher

I often used to say that I was in this “in between” time, when I was in the process of figuring out my place – my purpose. It was old idea ➡️ pivot (“in between”) ➡️ new idea. Like I was taking a ‘time out’ as I hopped onto a different path to try it out – except time actually never stopped and I was and remain on the same path.

And that’s just it: it’s the same path. It’s the same story, and it’s a continuation of a never-ending journey.

I kept affirming the now moment (and what led me to this place) was not the right answer, or it was incomplete.

⏰ Once I got through this event, things would go back to normal.
⏰ Once my business is up and running (and making money), I can get back to living.
⏰ Once I’m in a more stable place, I can discuss the future of our family.
⏰ Once I fix what’s broken, I will live happily ever after.

But every choice we have made not only leads us to where we are, who we have become, why we think and feel and act the way that we do, it is ALL a part of our journey. And that has been the biggest lesson

every single moment of every single day IS the journey – confusion, boredom, frustration, joy, exhaustion, inspiration – it’s ALL part of this amazing life we are so blessed to have.

I am (and still working on, truthfully) honouring the place I am in, honouring the ups and downs it took to get me here, and being grateful for every moment of it.

Shame no longer has a seat at the table.
