Iced Green Tea with Mint + Honey

Recipe from: The Chunky Chef

Healing ingredients found in this drink:

  • Green Tea
  • Mint
  • Honey

Ingredients

  • 4 cups water
  • 4 green tea bags
  • 2 sprigs fresh mint
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 cups ice
  • 2 cups cold water
  • additional sprigs of mint for serving
  • lemon slices for serving

Instructions

In a saucepan, bring 4 cups of water to a boil. Once boiling, remove from heat, add tea bags and 2 mint sprigs. Cover and let steep 10 minutes.

Remove and discard tea bags and mint. Stir in honey until dissolved.

In a large pitcher, add 2 cups ice, 2 cups cold water, and green tea mixture. Stir well to combine. Chill until cold.

Serve over ice, with a lemon slice and mint sprig.

Hibiscus Lemonade

Recipe from: Medical Medium

Healing ingredients found in this drink:

  • Hibiscus
  • Lemon
  • Raw Honey

Ingredients:

  • 4 cups water, divided
  • 2 teaspoons dried hibiscus (see Tips)
  • ½ cup fresh lemon juice
  • 4 tablespoons raw honey (see Tips)

Directions:

Bring 1 cup of water to a boil in a small saucepan. Remove the water from the heat and add the dried hibiscus. Allow the resulting hibiscus tea to steep for at least 10 minutes, and then strain the tea into a mug and place it in the fridge to cool.

In a medium bowl, whisk together the remaining 3 cups of water with the lemon juice and honey until the honey has completely dissolved and a smooth lemonade has formed. When the hibiscus tea has cooled, stir it into the lemonade base and enjoy!

Tips:

* Store-bought tea bags can be used as well when loose dried hibiscus is not available. Use 1 hibiscus tea bag in place of 1 teaspoon of dried hibiscus.
* Alternatively, maple syrup can be used in place of honey. Start by using 3 tablespoons of maple syrup and adjust until the desired sweetness is reached.
* The recipe above is for a beautiful, light lemonade that anyone can enjoy. If you’re looking for even more medicinal benefits, try using up to 2 more tablespoons of dried hibiscus for a stronger hibiscus lemonade with a powerfully tart flavour.

Lemon Balm Wild Blueberry Iced Tea

Recipe from: Medical Medium

Healing ingredients found in this drink:

  • Wild Blueberries
  • Maple Syrup
  • Lemon
  • Lemon Balm

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup frozen wild blueberries
  • 1/2 cup maple syrup
  • 3 tbsp lemon juice
  • 4 lemon balm tea bags
  • 4 cups of water
  • Ice, to serve
  • Handful of fresh lemon balm, for garnish

Directions:

Place the wild blueberries, maple syrup and lemon juice in a medium-sized saucepan. Cook over low heat until the wild blueberries are mushy, about 5 minutes.

Add the water and bring to a simmer. Turn the heat off, add the tea bags and allow to steep for 10 minutes. Pour everything through a fine-mesh sieve into a pitcher or bowl, using the back of a spoon to squeeze out juice from the blueberries and tea bags. Chill the tea for about an hour in the fridge, then serve over ice with fresh lemon balm for garnish.
